Key Bridge Spitter

I was walking alone across the Key Bridge, in the middle of the afternoon. Guy was covering his mouth with one of those avian/swine flu masks, approaching me. Just as we crossed paths, he leaned over and spat full on in my face. He gave me the finger and smiled.
This was four years ago but writing this is still making me cry.

  1. Hi, I understand how this was upsetting for you. I really do. But I don’t think it is fair to assume that this was gender-related. Maybe it was. Or maybe he is just a sick man with nothing better to do than spit in people’ faces.

  2. SL, that’s not fair. Do you really think that guy could’ve spat in a man’s face and gotten away with it? Spitting on someone, in all cultures, is the ultimate sign of complete disrespect. This person wanted to intimidate someone he didn’t think would fight back.

Anon, I’m so sorry that this happened to you. This person disrespected you enough – without even knowing you – to act like an animal toward you. I really wish I knew what this guy looked like so I track him down and beat the bejesus out of him.
