Vote to make DC harassment free!

August is right around the corner, and we are excited for several reasons. First, it’s the birthday month of Holla Back DC’s co-founder Chai. Yippee! Second, it’s the month when we get a group of undergraduate interns from George Washington University working with us to see your ideas come to life. And, this August, we have a third reason to celebrate: we are embarking on the Pepsi Refresh Challenge!

The Pepsi Refresh Challenge is a funding competition for organizations and individuals seeking monetary prizes for the most number of votes their ideas can generate. We are in the running for $50,000 to bring RightRides DC, a free and safe ride share program for women and LGBTQ individuals on Friday and Saturday nights. But, to make this a reality, we need to WIN this challenge.

Starting on August 1 (this Sunday), please take a moment to vote for Holla Back DC! every day (including weekends) in August! It’s easy to do and won’t cost you a dime:

1. Go to Holla Back DC! page on the Pepsi website: http://www.refresheverything.com/hollabackdc) (note: this link will not work until Sunday!)

2. Click on Sign-In at the bottom of the page.

3. Sign-in using your Facebook account, or create a new Pepsi account (super easy).

4. Click “Vote.”

5. Vote everyday for the next 30 days.

We want to change the landscape of the DC metro area. We want to make DC safer and prevent public sexual harassment and assault. We want to give people options on how they can get home safely. You want RightRides DC here. Make it happen by voting and sending this email to 10 of your friends.

Before we let you go, fill out this quick survey (http://bit.ly/9ATE2K) to let us know how much we can inform you about Pepsi Refresh over the next month. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and willingness to make change in our nation’s capital!

In solidarity,

HBDC! Team
